Iga Swiatek was left in awe after meeting tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf at the 2024 Cincinnati Open. She humorously referred to herself as a “random girl” standing between “two legends” of the sport.
Swiatek entered the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati on the heels of some brilliant performances. She won titles at the 2024 Madrid Open and the Italian Open by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the finals of both tournaments.
The World No. 1 then continued her winning streak by defeating Jasmine Paolini in the final of the 2024 French Open to claim her third consecutive French Open title and her fifth Grand Slam title overall.
Following her success at the French Open, Swiatek represented Poland in tennis at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She defeated the likes of Irina-Camelia Begu, Diane Parry, Wang Xinyu and Danielle Collins before losing to eventual gold medalist Zheng Qinwen in the semifinals. Swiatek then rebounded by securing the bronze medal after defeating Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.
