One of Manchester City’s pre-season stars has seen his loan move cancelled after just one game.
Having played in each of City’s friendlies in the USA after making his full team debut last season, Mahamadou Susoho agreed a loan move to League One side Peterborough United – hoping to put into practice what he has learned under Pep Guardiola.
He made his Posh debut on the opening weekend of the season, but was withdrawn from their EFL Cup clash with Oxford after pulling up in the warm-up and now scans have revealed a lengthy lay-off with a serious thigh injury.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed an agreement has been reached with City to cancel the loan and Susoho returns to the Etihad for treatment. But there is hope that Susoho could return to London Road in January after recovering.
“He’ll be out for at least four months as we feared; it’s probably about as bad an injury as you can get to that area,” said Ferguson. “We’ve sent him back to Man City and we will keep in touch with him and the aim will be to get him back in January on loan for the rest of the season. I felt for him, it’s his first loan and he’s a young kid. It’s a real blow to us.”
