Flood warning for Essex this morning as heavy rainfall is forecast for county.

A Flood warning is in place in part of Essex today (September 23). This comes after parts of the county are set to be hit with some heavy rainfall in the next few hours.

Areas most at risk as highlighted by the warning are in the Southend-on-Sea and Rochford areas. The most likely to be flooded are Eastwood Brook – around Rayleigh Road and Eastwoodbury Lane areas – Laurence Industrial Estate, Sutton Court Drive, Oak Road, Hall Road and St. Andrew’s Road.

The Government has issued the warning because the flooding of both homes and businesses have been predicted as “likely”. Residents have been urged to “act now”, by protecting themselves and loved ones, moving to the upper floor of a building and putting flood protection equipment in place.
